Paisley Artists are a group of individuals with a shared interest - the creation and appreciation of art. The club maintains a membership of 75 persons and meets fortnightly between October and March each year for demonstrations, critic nights, work nights and slide presentations. An annual exhibition is held at the Paisley Museum and Art Gallery, normally between mid-November and mid-December.
The precise origins of the club are not known except that it was established in 1907 and the members have been meeting regularly, exhibiting and selling their work ever since. The continued success of the club is a testiment to the skills and talents of the membership who consistently produce a high standard of work - a large proportion of the club funds are taken as commission on the sale of paintings at the annual exhibition.
We hope that you will visit our annual exhibition and will perhaps recognise the work of some of our members at other exhibitions also.
Annual Exhibition -
Every year we have a private viewing at the opening of our exhibition in the Paisley Museum and Art Gallery allowing the ‘first pick’ of the original works. Invitations are sent to people who have supported the club in the past and invited guests. Please let us know if you would like to receive an invitation to our private viewing and we will do our best to fit you in, although numbers may be limited.
Would you like to become a member? We keep the membership at a maximum of 75 to suit the size of our meeting place and to help maintain a more intimate atmosphere during the demonstrations. Unfortunately this means that we usually have a waiting list -
Some of our members will undertake commissions, for example portraits, pets, historical buildings. If you have a particular requirement please email us at the address below.
